Bernard J. Ryan has been involved in New York's legislative process for more than 25 years. He served as the first Director of Legislation and Political Action for CSEA, the state's largest public employee union. Following the union's endorsement of Mario Cuomo in 1982, he served as upstate field coordinator in both the gubernatorial primary and general election campaigns. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed Director of Legislative Affairs at the New York State Department of Transportation. Mr. Ryan was Vice President for Governmental Relations with the Cable Television Association of New York, Inc. from 1984-1990, leaving in September 1990 to join Kopley & Ryan Associates. Mr. Ryan has extensive background in matters pertaining to general business regulation, taxation and health care.
